H&M Stories by Katrine Meisfjord, KODE 1, Bergen

Norwegian Crafts yearly thematic exhibition. They have invited the curator Juan A. Gaitán, whom invites us to a discuss "the geographies of material labor and production".

Katrine Meisfjord has collected stories from people in Bergen, on the common theme H&M. She has involved people with origin from different countries and continents, thus collecting varied stories, e.g. how students in Indonesia gathered 70 000 industry workers in protest marches in 1997...

Frode, employee at KODE, tells the story about how he as a young man had a summer job at a H&M storage warehouse. One day a boss showed up, and informed them it was a jubileum, and that they could have 30 minutes extra lunch. They all got a vase with a H&M logo.
